[Enthusiasm!] A high-class board game born from being moved by a bamboo craftsman’s overly passionate desire to “make things” [ZEN tiles].
We were fortunate enough to have a relationship with bamboo craftsman “Takenosuke” for the production of ZEN Tiles Basic.
In the process of making the product, I had a chance to talk with him about various things, and I was very impressed with his ideas on “Monozukuri”.
■Mr. Takenosuke
Mr. Takenosuke has created bamboo fences for Ginkakuji Temple, Fushimi Inari Shrine, and the Ninenzaka slope of Kiyomizu Temple, etc. He has also released a bamboo iphone speaker called “i3boo”, which has been adopted by a first-class hotel.
■Do not sell ”thing”
It is considered “good” for craftsmen to offer their products at a low price, but I don’t think so.
If we just sell things, we will be in a price war and will be eliminated by foreign countries.
Making things means providing a sense of satisfaction to the customers when they get them.
To achieve this, craftsmen are required to give shape to their “own thoughts.
In order to provide customers with a sense of satisfaction, no compromises must be made.
Even if the price is higher, if it leads to a sense of satisfaction, it should be adopted.
In addition, the price should include a profit so that the company can continue to provide satisfaction.
A low price does not necessarily mean a high level of satisfaction.
There are many more complaints about 100-yen stores than about high-end department stores.
“Providing high-priced products means responsibility.
“Providing high-priced products comes with “responsibility,” but accepting this “responsibility” and continuing to provide “satisfaction” will make customers “fans.
■I was very impressed.
I was impressed by this idea, and ZEN Tiles Basic has also been designed with “responsibility” in mind.
The price of 5,500 yen is too high for a “hot seller”.
However, we dared to make this specification in order to realize the idea we wanted to convey.
Go stones
Go stones.
Melamine material is cheap and easy to process.
However, I am not happy at all when I touch the melamine Go stones.
In order for people to feel the coolness of glass, we went through a lot of trial and error in processing, and finally came up with a product that we can offer.
Bamboo board
Bamboo time board.
MDF material is inexpensive and easy to use.
However, in order to give people a sense of the “Japanese” world, I looked around for bamboo materials and was fortunate to come across Takenosuke.
I had the bamboo carefully processed to a special size and created the time board by laser processing.
Original tenugui (hand towel)
Karesansui Tenugui.
I created it with the image of drawing out a garden of one’s own mind.
The tenugui prevents the Go stones from rotating, and the wrapping makes it easy to store and unfold in an instant, making it easier to play every day.
We adopted this idea because it leads to a sense of “satisfaction” for the players.
The best you can choose now.
In this way, we have selected the “best that can be chosen now” and stored them in a high-grade gold foil-stamped box.
Although it is expensive, it is a game that “can be played alone,” “can be played every day,” and “can be healed just by touching it.
We hope that those who are convinced of these things will pick up the game!
■What do you think of ZEN Tiles Solo?
※This is my impression of ZEN Tiles Solo. You can play with the same rules.

This is great!
I think it’s been buzzing on Twitter since last year, but I didn’t realize it.
There are people who think of all kinds of things to do with it, but it seems to work not only for diaries, but also when your heart is broken, and it seems to create many other uses!
And I like the design of the product.

Visualize your mind #ZEN tiles
I saw Shibe doing this, and I’m slowly becoming like, “What the heck, this is really good. You don’t have to reveal your heart to anyone, but I think it’s very important to take it in and express it. I’m sure it’ll be easier to verbalize after I’ve simply laid it out like this 💡…

200115 Today’s #ZEN tiles
As soon as I left the house, I was annoyed by the honking of the horn. I was annoyed by a horn honking right after I left the house. I had a bad experience on the train. I was sad and moved by the beautiful sunset on the station platform. Inspired by yesterday’s TV program, I took the stairs on the way home and was tired. I didn’t break my knee plate. I’m glad, glad, glad.
thanks
